Home Town Embraces Country Singer Mark Connors

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 7, 2011 -- Stepping on stage in his hometown for the first time, Mark Connors took a trip down memory lane the evening of December 29, 2010 when he performed the opening set for the Mark Chestnutt Concert at the Fox Theatre in Tucson, AZ.

In the audience were family and friends, among them three high school buddies who were part of a band he fronted over 30 years ago. Mark shared stories of the huge teen concerts he promoted where they all performed and in memory of their times together, played a rock and roll solo on his electric guitar that wowed the audience.

His show was personalized even more when he presented an autographed guitar to his niece who had only recently located her father, his brother, and claimed her place in the family. It’s fair to say there was scarcely a dry eye in the audience.

Connors and his band performed country favorites and originals from his own music repertoire, from country rock to heartfelt ballads. Craig Sumberg, Executive Director of the Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation, states, “Mark Connors delivers a unique brand of country twang and city grit. His moving songs and energetic delivery had everyone tapping their cowboy boots and asking for more.”

There’s little doubt that the Fox and Tucson have not seen the last of their home town country artist.
