FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 30, 2009 --
Former fashion model; Elzbieta Trzeciak, at the age of thirty one finds herself living in one of the Honolulu’s Homeless Shelters. While waiting every day at 5:30 PM for this transitional shelter’s gate to open, she asks herself questions that force her to look within for the answers;
“What am I doing here? Why am I here? Not just here living in this shelter, but why am I here on this planet at all?”
She finds the answers while pouring her thoughts into her laptop, which is the only commodity left from the days when she wasn’t homeless.
A year later she publishes her book and she sells it on her website: www.bestsellingbook.yolasite.com
In her book, among other things Elzbieta Trzeciak talks about growing up in communistic Poland, dealing with abusive and alcoholic father, later on escaping draconian orphanage at the age of sixteen to proceed with modeling carrier that takes her all over the world, and about her ongoing battle with depression that leads to several suicide attempts.
Her editor; Katharine Osborne, who decided to edit the book pro-bono after familiarizing herself with its content, wrote this to her:
"The book isn't about modeling or being a model, it's about your journey through life, and not really fitting in anywhere or with any one. You are like a lone piece of a puzzle that's in an entirely different puzzle box. You've tried to fit together with all the other pieces, but it's not going to happen until you find the right puzzle box. Beauty isn't going to sell the story. Your story of being different and not fitting in is what sells the story, because ironically, most people feel that way to some degree, and can relate to the intense emotions even if they can't relate to the specific events. This type of story is so common that it has a name in literature -- it's called "The Hero's Journey" and it's a story about someone discovering who they are and what they are about, whether it's Hercules, Hamlet, Luke Skywalker, or Oprah, and they are often found fighting against tremendous odds to do the right thing that is true to who they are."
This author inspires and gives hope to millions of people who struggle with depression and to those who in these difficult economical times find themselves even without a home.
