Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2013 - Asia's Largest Spring Jewellery Show

Being one of the world's top three jewellery events, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show is an excellent venue at which to advance business in this shining industry. The show celebrates its 30th edition in 2013 by returning to its regular position in the trade event calendar, running from 5-9 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.



In the first nine months of 2012, Hong Kong's total exports of precious jewellery expanded by 20% year-on-year, reached US$4.9 billion. The top three markets are the US, the EU and India, collectively accounting for 56% of the total. Combined with re-exports, Hong Kong is the world's second largest exporter of imitation jewellery and the fifth largest exporter of precious jewellery. Under the rapid and flourishing development of jewellery industry, Hong Kong is a long-established international centre for the jewellery business and is undoubtedly the ideal platform to host world class jewellery fair.



Against this background, the 2012 edition featured a record-breaking of more than 3,100 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions. The increase in scope and range of items on show attracted more than 38,000 buyers from 143 countries and regions, (up 3% over 2011's show) keen to source new jewellery items and see for themselves the trends and styles influencing this glittering industry.



First time exhibitors are excited to be back in the next edition, œThis is our first time at this show, but we have done business in Hong Kong before and have always been very successful. We have already sold a number of pieces even on the first day of the show. We've seen a lot of customers from Chinese mainland. The show is very well organised and we hope to return next year. For returning exhibitor, the show keep lifting up to their expectation, œThis is our third time to take part in this show “ it gives us a good opportunity to let more buyers know about our products. We've met buyers coming from large companies in the US and Europe. Many buyers have shown interests in our new collection. We've received orders here. The management and services are very good. More than 3,200 exhibitors are expected to participate in 2013, with 24 pavilions set up which reinforce its status as one of the top three jewellery shows in the world. Among exhibitors that have already confirmed participation are renowned companies including Pluczenik Diamond Company from Belgium, Alain Boite S.A.S. from France, Constantin Wild from Germany, Dimexon (Hong Kong) Limited from Hong Kong, and Vulcan & Co from Israel, David & Sohn AG from Switzerland and Aarzee Jewellery from U.A.E.



The show also features eight themed zones that focus on key market segments, ensuring that buyers are able to easily locate suppliers that best suit their needs. The Hall of Fame brings together top-flight brand names in suitably elegant surroundings that show off the displays to best effect. The Hall of Extraordinary is an elite section reserved for exclusive and high-end fine jewellery masterpieces. Antique & Vintage Jewellery Galleria captured the glamour of classic jewellery and watches from bygone times. Other special zones include the Designer Galleria, Exclusive Showroom, Hall of Jade Jewellery, to name a few.



The Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, always a highlight of the show, returns in 2013. The theme is œGlitter in Motion this year and 240 entries have been received. The winning pieces will shine at a special display in the fairground, providing inspiration as well as showcasing the best in local design talent.



The International Jewellery Design Excellence Award 2013 (IJDE Award) presents the best of the best in creativity. Entrants for the IJDE Award are all winners of jewellery design competitions from around the globe. We have so far gathered more than 160 champions from 27 countries and regions vie for this year award, a 46% increase compared to 2011 edition of this biennial event. The IJDE Award will crown one Champion of the Champions, with other outstanding entries vying for the Aesthetic Award, Craftsmanship Award, Innovative and Uniqueness in Design Award, Distinction Awards and Merit Awards. Again, these wonderful designs will be on display at the fair for all to see and enjoy. The winners will be unveiled in the Networking Reception on the first day of the fair.



A number of value-added events at the fair help create the ultimate experience for buyers and exhibitors alike. Models show off exhibitors' products to their best advantage in mini-parades. The fair's seminar series promotes learning and information gathering, and includes presentations by industry experts on important topics such as design, trend predictions and market intelligence, while the cocktail reception fosters networking among industry players, international media, and VIP buyers.
