Hope Doesn’t Float for Network Marketing Recruits

August 19, 2009

When should you throw in the towel on your home based business?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 19, 2009 -- An excerpt from the article: Hope Doesn’t Float for Network Marketing Recruits

When you “pitch” a potential rep for your network marketing business, what approach do you take? How do you attempt to answer the question, “Why should someone get involved in network marketing?”

Because they want to be financially free? They want to work from home? They know there’s more to life than punching the clock, getting hemorrhoids from a cheap vinyl rolling chair?

Those are all strong, legitimate answers, but they can be dangerous as well, because they all have one thing in common:

HOPE.

Whoa, isn’t hope a good thing? Absolutely, but not when it’s the main reason your new recruit signs on the dotted line. In fact, hope is often a cozy bedfellow to your nemesis, “quitting.” Why? Because hope is the scrawny Jimmy Olsen of reasons to get into our business. What we need is Superman, baby. And in this case, Superman goes by the name of:

DESIRE

Check out what marketing genius Mike Dillard recently said about new recruits:

“The sad truth is that most people in [the network marketing] industry did not buy a business, they bought hope. And hope is never backed by true desire. Hope is for the undecided.

80% of people who join you will never sponsor more than 1 rep or customer. Most people simply don't have the desire to accomplish their goals through their new business. They just bought hope in order to quiet that little voice inside them that keeps nagging them to make a change.

Once they buy the business, and they don't make $1,000 in 5 days, they can then justify their fear of change with the "logic" that it just "didn't work", and that they knew it was a scam to begin with... This is especially true with opportunity seekers, which is why I don't waste my money on leads and why you shouldn't either.”

In other words, painting a beautiful picture for your new recruit is a necessary step, as you want to let them glimpse this wonderful way of life this business offers. But unless they have the desire to change, and not just a weak hope that this may be their ticket to freedom, you’re wasting your time. Cut them loose and find someone that NEEDS your opportunity.
