Chantilly, VA – September 21, 2009. Hoppmann Audio Visual is proud to announce its participation in the renovation of the Tripp Family residence and construction of a facility for The Fishing School, a youth and family center for underprivileged children. This life-changing makeover represents the ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ (EMHE) show's largest build to date.
The Fishing School is a nationally-recognized youth development organization that provides children and families with academic and parental support through its community-based centers located in Washington, DC. Since 1990 The Fishing School has helped more than 2,500 students through after-school and summer academic programs. With the completion of the EMHE rebuild, TFS is able to provide a larger number of children with access to the school in addition to offering enhanced learning opportunities.
Hoppmann designed, delivered and installed a custom audio visual system for the TFS classroom consisting of equipment manufactured by Sanyo, Extron, Chief and SMART Technologies in the week following the Tripp family receiving the news. Working as a team with hundreds of other organizations and volunteers, Hoppmann helped make the impossible happen in seven short days. Setting up the infrastructure for the Sanyo projection system and interactive SMART Board 680 at the school as well as for flat-screen TVs throughout the new Tripp family house before the drywall went up, mounting the projector and whiteboard before the flooring was installed, dialing in and testing the system before the final reveal – it’s hard to believe all of this was achieved in such a dramatically short period of time.
“Since the company’s creation in 1955, Hoppmann has been dedicated to supporting communities in the area. Investing into educating children is the most gratifying experience, because we are investing in our future. We feel that the audio visual system provided to The Fishing School will be well-used and will lead to higher academic performance among its students. The SMART Board supports interactive learning, literacy, creativity and collaboration and engages children to participate during lessons. We are proud to have the opportunity to partner with ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ and provide such a unique learning environment for TFS kids”, said company’s CEO Mike D’Amico. “Hoppmann AV is grateful to its employees and clients for strengthening our company’s growth during these tough economic conditions so that we can contribute to this and other noble causes.”
The episode is set to air sometime in February. For more information, visit [link=http://www.hoppmann-av.com
