HOPS AND HOUNDS EVENT TO COMBINE A LOVE OF BEER AND DOGS

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 5, 2010 -- On Sunday, August 29th, Cigars and Stripes Bar & Lounge, located at 6715 W. Ogden in Berwyn, will open its doors to both dog and beer lovers for the first ever Hops and Hounds beer tasting event! In partnership with The Urban Mutt, a pet retail store located on Grove Ave in Berwyn, the bar will offer a tasting of five premium American beers, Ronnie’s signature smoked wing meal sampler, live music, a raffle (1st prize valued at $100), Bowser Beer samples, Lotus stew samples, Sweet Spots doggie ice cream, contests, and more.

Best of all, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Waggin’ Tails Animal Shelter, a no-kill facility that acts as Animal Care and Control for both Cicero and Berwyn. The shelter receives numerous animals each day, and relies on events such as this to increase awareness.

When asked about the event, Cigars and Stripes owner Ronnie Lottz replied, “This is gonna be awesome…I had no idea how many of my customers had dogs! Everyone’s really psyched about this.” Ronnie immediately jumped on the idea when it was first presented to him by The Urban Mutt’s co-owner Chad Lopez. “We wanted to do something different and fun for our customers,” said Chad. “We’d never heard of a beer tasting event that incorporated dogs, so we decided to break new ground…I think this event will be a blast.”

Hops and Hounds will take place on the 29th from 12 noon until 5pm. Attendees are welcome to stay at the bar as long as they like. Tickets, which are $20 if purchased ahead of time or $25 at the door, are available at both Cigars and Stripes and The Urban Mutt.

The Urban Mutt opened its doors at 3212 S. Grove in Berwyn, in 2009 and provides dog and cat owners with all their pet care needs. Cigars and Stripes is a local bar and lounge located on the historic Route 66 that offers an extensive selection of craft beers and cigar choices.
