Hospitals Get Quieter
Hospitals Get Quieter
Kamco Building Supply of Chester PA introduces a new line of commercial ceiling panels that offer quiet beauty combined with superior acoustics in a new 'washable' finish.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 20, 2009 --
Hospitals should be quiet places, but in the past they have had to use vinyl faced products, or Mylar faced products in their clean room areas or kitchen spaces. Those products while effective have absolutely no acoustical value. Now Kamco Supply offers Health Zone Ultima which is an acoustical panel with sound control plus it meets clean room specifications.
Tom Gallant, a sales specialist with the firm says that in the past the best answer for hospital facility managers has been vinyl coated sheetrock. It wasn't attractive, but it met the need for clean rooms. Tom says "Clean rooms can be so noisy you can't hold a conversation in them, being in them makes you feel like you are standing in a gymnasium, but Health Zone Ultima can change that." Health Zone Ultima has an NRC of 70 and you can compare that to carpeting which has an NRC of 25. Speaking of the number 70, there is also a 70% recycle content. Which means this tile can be used in order to accumulate LEED credits for hospitals.
Contractors and facility managers can contact Tom at Kamco at 610-872-5000, for more information on Health Zone Ultima. Kamco Building Supply is a distributor in the Philadelphia region for commercial interior finishes. They are located at 1100 Township Line Road in Chester Pennsylvania. They have satellite offices throughout the area.
