In 1995 Jef Houben of Belgium gifted a beatiful Black Hen to David Clausing's young son. That Black hen was 95 B 6230951. That beautiful black hen is the Grand dam to my Black Hen, "BLACK RAVEN" or 05 JEDDS 9237 Black Houben by Ron Johnson of California. Her Sire is 3 time winners 97 CLAUSING 390 Black C son of the "Gift Hen" when she was matched to 95 B 4238. Dam to BLACK RAVEN is 00 CLAUSING 434 BB hen and her parents are 97 CLAUSING 721 and 97 CLAUSING 133. I was very luck to acquire Black Ravens full sister, 04 BT 302 BB hen also by Ron Johnson, from Steve Mulinio of New York. I named her Blue Raven and 2011 will be her 1st year breeding for me so no results to share at this time.

Black Raven is the dam to Black Bart or 97 A 2213 Black C by 5StarsLoft and flown by Kevin McGrew. Black Bart was 1st at 200 miles as a young bird for Kevin. The nestmate and full brother 07 A 2214 Black C is a stock breeder for Steve Mistler. I offerred to buy back 07 A 2214 Black C but Steve would not sell him. I took that as a compliment. Black Bart is the sire to 3 1st place winners and he has produced some excellent Black Houben breeders that have also produced 1st place winners.

In 2010 I bred Black Bart to an excellent Houben hen by Paul Rueter, a beautiful Blue Bar that I named "Sheba". Sheba was100% David Clausing and she was also a grand daughter of the mother to DANA, the "622 Hen". Well this pair, Black Bart and Sheba, produced an excellent Black Houben C, 08 AKA 308 Black Houben C that I named Black Knight. Black Knight has produced 1 st place winner and some other excellent flyers. He is such an excellent handling bird that I put him back to his Grand Dam, Black Raven. They are the proud parents to what I hope will be one of the best breeders that I have ever produced. "Black Dragon" or 2010 AA 1769 Black Houben C. Black Dragon is just an awesome handling bird and he is currently matched to a Blue Bar daugher of Black Bart. This little Blue Bar hen, 2010 AA 1710 was 1st at 230 miles for Vern Clausen of San Antonio.

I currently have Black Raven matched to an awesome BB Houben C that is 100% David Clusing blood. "HASS" or 04 HAAS 267 Blue Bar C is my John Leone out of 97 Clusing 154 mated to 00 Clausing 306. I bought this male at a World of Wings auction because the hen is a Grand daughter of "390" the sire to Black Raven. Plus he also show a full brother to 1383 the sire to 410's mother. So far this year they have produced one youngster 2011 AA 6000 Black and they are on two more eggs as of this writing. I really am excited about this pair and what they will produce together.
