It is most important now than ever to save on energy in every way we can. Most people use the excuse about the economy being this or that, but the bottom line is we as adults have to take responsibility for our actions when it concerns the utilities in our homes or apartments. Most people don't care that their refrigerator has aged, they continue to use it not realizing because its inefficient its contributing added cost to the monthly bill especially if it's over 10 years old. At this point it's ready to be replaced with one that consist of a high energy Star rating. One thing to note is because your refrigerator has the Star label do not mean its the most effective, this seal tells us that its efficiency exceeds the federally mandated efficiency by at least 15% which is good.

Leaks cracks holes around pipes, windows that have putty missing, walls that need caulking all contribute to the high cost of energy. With the purchase of a spool of duct tape most of these problems can be solved. So basically if we as adults diligently do our part as over seer of our electricity knowing how easy it is to get complacent and let things get out of hand, we are the ones that ultimately have to pay the price.
