A host travel agency will already have the business license, association memberships, account access, insurance options, and training available for you. When you work with a host agency you can use their resources to get up and running and focus just on what you know best, Disney vacations.

When you work with a host agency you will become an independent home based agent. You will also get access to the College of Disney Knowledge. This is an online site that has training on all of Disney’s offerings. You will learn about Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Adventures by Disney. You will also learn about Disney’s reservation system and how to book room reservations. After each Disney training course you will take a test. Don’t worry, if you do not pass you can take the test again. When you complete the course you will ear your Disney Vacation Specialist ears and certificate.

When choosing a host travel agency, select one that offers you support by answering your questions and tools to help you succeed. Some host agencies will setup an email account for you with their agencies name, some have business cards for you, and offer marketing materials.

All host agencies are different. Some charge a fee to join, have sales minimums, or additional costs. In exchange for using the membership licenses and resources a host agency will take a percentage of your sales commissions. This also varies from agency to agency.

When researching Host agencies starting with "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner" or what is know as Ear Marked Disney Travel Agencies. These are agencies that Disney has honored with a special recognition as being partners with them in the Disney Ear Marked Program. Travel agencies have to get invited to this special program by Disney.

After you join a host agency you need to never stop learning about Disney and if you are a Disney Fan this will be easy. Take a trip to Disney World or Disneyland or take a Disney Cruise. Read Disney Travel books, blogs, articles, and fan websites. The more you know, the more you can share with your Disney clients.
