Planning a wedding is an exciting time for a bride. Part of that excitement is choosing the dress. Entire magazines, television shows, Internet websites and bridal events are devoted to presenting dresses to the bride. Once you’ve found the dress, you’ll know it, and nothing else will do. If you’ve located a dress in a magazine or on a website, your next step is to find the dress locally. There are a few simple steps that will help you locate your dress in a hurry.

1

Check the shopper’s directory for a Simple Wedding Dresses you found in a magazine. Most magazines include a section in the back with contact information for all the designers who are featured in their pages. Some advertisements include the contact information at the bottom of the ad. Locate the telephone number or website and contact the company for a location near you.

2
Locate the designer’s website on the Internet. If you do not have the exact website address, perform a search for the designer’s name. The first result is usually the official website of the designer or manufacturer. Most websites have a search feature which allow you to locate retailers by geographic location. Enter your city, state and/or zip code and hit “search”. A list will appear with locations near you. Call and ask if the store has the dress in stock or whether they can order it.

3

Call local bridal stores and ask if they carry fashions by the designer of your dress. They may have the dress in stock or be able to order it for you.

4
Check online auctions sites, classified listings and discount bridal wear websites and stores if your dress is an older style that you can no longer purchase from the designer. You never know when someone purchased the dress, canceled her wedding and now want to sell the dress. Finding the dress used, but in immaculate condition, is also possible. Most brides have their dress dry-cleaned and stored in plastic after use.
