FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 5, 2009 --
Moroccan light fixtures are becoming very popular among architects and interior designers in the USA including California, Florida, New York, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. Moorish lighting fixtures frequently used in conjunction with Mediterranean architecture and Spanish architecture due to their unique designs, and worm spectacular lights effects. Shopping for Moroccan light fixtures in the USA can sometime be challenging. Most of the Moroccan light fixtures found in the USA in Moroccan furniture stores, and Moroccan bazaars including Moroccan lamps, Moroccan lanterns, Moroccan sconces, Moroccan pendant lights that you can buy for few dollars or couple hundred dollars are not suitable for residential or commercial use if you intend to use them as electrified light fixtures for several reasons. First, they are poorly made from cheap metals like tin, zink, that will eventually rust within weeks or months when you purchase them. Second they are welded using lead, which does not last that long. The shapes and patterns of the light fixtures are very basic and made by punching holes in the metal.
The most important thing about cheap Moroccan light fixtures is, can they be wired for UL ?. The answer is no, why? because due to they are poorly made from Tin or Zink and due to the poor structure of the light fixtures, cheap Moroccan lamps will not pass the UL inspection and you won't be able to electrify them however you may use them as candle lights.
When shopping online or in your local store for Moroccan lamps, keep in mind what type of materials are they made from, and can they be electrified for UL. Be aware of those Moroccan store that are offering a wiring kit for couple dollars to wire your light fixture. Those wiring kits will put some light in your Moroccan light fixture but they do not make your light fixture UL Approve. It is very important to have your light fixture UL Approve and if you are not familiar with UL ask your local electrician for professional advise.
The only company that i know of in the USA that design, manufacture, and import high-end Moroccan light fixtures in the USA pre-wired for UL is Saint Tropez Boutique located in San Francisco, California. Saint Tropez Boutique traditionally handcraft their Moroccan lamps, Moroccan chandeliers, Moroccan sconces, Moroccan lanterns, Moroccan ceiling lights from top quality materials such solid brass, copper, or nickel. Each Moroccan style light fixtures is carefully carved with intricate Moorish patterns and welded with silver. Why silver? Silver is the best way to weld brass because it last longer than lead. Each Moroccan light fixtures from Saint Tropez Boutique is carefully inspected by UL APPROVED lighting company that wire it for UL .
