When you wish to copy music files from your computer, you can use either a CD or a DVD. While an audio CD can only contain approximately 80 minutes of music, a DVD can hold much more music. Burning music files to a DVD as a data DVD is useful for storing and playing a large collection of music. Use a DVD-R as a music CD and burn your favorite music for extended play.


Instructions

Open Windows Media Player and select the "Burn" tab at the top of the player. Select "Data CD or DVD."

Open the DVD drive and insert a blank DVD-R into the drive.

Click the "Library" tab and navigate to the music files you wish to burn onto the DVD-R. Drag each to file from the middle pane of Windows Media Player over to the right pane to compile a burn list. Continue dragging music files until you finish placing all the files you wish to burn into the list.

Rearrange the order of the music files within the burn list by dragging files up or down as you desire. Remove any music files from the list by right-clicking a file and choosing "Remove from list."

Click the "Start Burn" button from below the burn list to begin burning the DVD. Watch the progress bar during the burning process so you will know when the process finishes.

Remove the DVD-R from the drive after the process finishes
