March 26, 2010

This is a summary article on the basics you should know about direct sales marketing to your customers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 26, 2010 -- How to grow your business in 2010

At Dzined we are always offering ways to help businesses grow their income and increase their profits. In this article we take a quick look at Direct Mail Marketing.

Direct Mail can be a really effective method of communicating with your customers and potential customers. I was prompted to write this email to you because this was a feature on a news article recently. Business Post have noticed an upturn in their business mail traffic DESPITE Royal Mails' recent industrial disputes (and despite RM actually delivering the mail!).
We have also noticed the same trend in the past year with many of our clients. The internet and all of its online speed and convenience are still valid ways of marketing, but good old paper can still be a really effective way of communicating the benefits of your business to your customers & potential new customers.

What do we mean by direct Mail? Well really it means anything that you send through the post that people can hold in their hand. It stands to reason then, that you should try and make all of your marketing materials promote the benefits of your business to your target audience. To help you with the text for your next flyer, advert. Brochure or newsletter etc, here are some basics that will help you write better marketing materials and get better results.

Direct Mail Basics
1. Mail your existing customers and best prospects first
2. Keep reminding people of the BENEFITS (as opposed to the Features) of your business
3. Offer something of real value to people – Nobody likes “Junk” Mail
4. Have a call to action on your sales literature – Tell people what you want them to do e.g. call you or visit your website

5. Use words that are more likely to sell. The key one is “you”. If you keep using this word, you are much more likely to write a personal email and get a response from the reader.

I hope you feel inspired to look at the idea of Direct Mail.
