How to Wordpress SEO for top rankings - I am always sceptical about claims made regarding quick fix search engine optimisation, but I do believe in one fact: you need to get the basics right.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 21, 2012 --Find out the 10 absolute basics of how to Wordpress blog for SEO that you must get right to obtain a high ranking on Google and other search engines. AND how to get a Wordpress SEO plugin that will guide you step by step and score your post in real time as you make the recommended adjustments. Go from zero to hero in 5 minutes, that's all it takes.

The first question to ask about how to Wordpress and optimise Wordpress posts for search engines is “What are the basics?” for optimising a Wordpress blog? How many keywords should I have? Not too many, not too few - what's the optimum? What about images, links, both external and internal? I am asking these questions after the event, after using my Wordpress seo plugin - before that, I thought I knew more than I actually did.

When it comes to understanding how to Wordpress , which is the most widely used blogging platform, its key attraction is that Google loves Wordpress blogs. So having set up a Wordpress installation, which is amazingly easy, start blogging and posting away, using categories and tags to your heart’s content, and watch your rankings soar, right? Wrong!

My blog was not performing the way that I had hoped, given that it was Wordpress, and I had submitted my site map to Google. Visitors were trickling in really, at least I was getting some, but nowhere near enough volume, based on the keywords I was targeting. I came across a Wordpress seo plugin that claimed to score posts in real time as you made amendments, which it recommended based on an initial assessment of your Worpress post . You key in a key word to score the post against, and hey presto, the software scores your effort. I downloaded the seo plugin on a seven day trial.

To say I was flabbergasted when my first post was assessed is an understatement. I consider myself to be a good writer, and have a good understanding of how to use keywords in a document. When a score comes back of under 30% for search engine optimisation and on page quality, it grabs your attention.

Within minutes, however, following the recommendations made by the plugin, my optimisation score had reached over 94%. Staggering . I quickly reviewed my other posts and followed the recommendations to get each post between 90-95% optimised.

I then submitted the site and its RSS feed via Pingomatic, and through my own RSSBot software. I have been tracking my visitor levels since I started using the Wordpress seo plugin, and in three weeks my visitor numbers have TRIPLED! You can see from the charts on the top right, the first is the profile in the last month, with 4,462 visitors, spiking in the last two weeks.

In the last two weeks, the site has received 3,494 visitors, or 80% of the last month’s total.

And the rate of vistors is growing as well; my rolling 24 hour visitor count is now up to 500, which is the equivalent of 7,000 visitors every two weeks, a current running rate of double the last two weeks!

I put this down to using the Wordpress seo plugin, and following its recommendations, plus resubmitting the site regularly via Pingomatic and using my own RSSBot software, you can check out how the plugin works here at SEOPressor for Wordpress, enjoy!
