HP Ingredients has been Awarded a US Patent on our Product ParActin for the Treatment of Alzheimers Disease, AIDS, and Autoimmune Disorders.

53. A method comprising:
i) diagnosing in a patient a disease selected from the group consisting of: Alzheimer’s Disease; Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome; and
autoimmune disease, and
ii) administering to said patent 3-[2-[decahydro-6-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)-5,8a-dimethyl-2-methylene-1-naphthalenyl]ethylidene]-dihydro-4-hydroxy-2(3h)-furanone in an amount effective to combat said disease.
54. The method of claim 53, wherein said disease comprises autoimmune disease.

55. The method of claim 54, wherein said autoimmune disease comprises rheumatoid arthritis.
56. The method of claim 54, wherein said autoimmune disease comprises lupus exanthematous.
57. The method of claim 54, wherein said autoimmune disease comprises multiple sclerosis.
58. The method of claim 54, wherein said autoimmune disease comprises asthma.
59. The method of claim 54, wherein said autoimmune disease comprises allergic reaction.
60. The method of claim 54, wherein said autoimmune disease comprises a condition selected from: systemic dermatomyocytis; and psoriasis.

61. The method of claim 54, wherein said autoimmune disease comprises osteoarthritis.
62. The method of claim 54, wherein said autoimmune disease comprises diabetes mellitus.
63. The method of claim 54, wherein said an amount effective to combat said disease comprises from about 1 mg to about 5 mg of 3-[2-[decahydro-6-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)-5,8a-dimethyl-2-methylene-1-naphthalenyl]ethylidene]-dihydro-4-hydroxy-2(3h)-furanone per day, per kilogram of patient body weight.
73. A method comprising:
i) identifying in a person the possible presence of Syndrome X, and

ii) administering to said person a substance selected from the group consisting of: Andrographis paniculata; and an Andrographis paniculata extract containing 3-[2-[decahydro-6-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)-5,8adimethyl-2-methylene-1-naphthalenyl]ethylidene]-dihydro-4-hydroxy-2(3h)-furanone; said substance administered in an amount effective to combat Syndrome X.

ParActin is a patented extract of Andrographis Paniculata, clinically proven to activate PPAR gamma, inhibit NFkappaB, the key regulator of our immune and inflammatory response system. When NFkappaB is deactivated, pro-inflammatory cytokines and enzymes that cause pain and inflammation can be reduced. Our research has shown ParActin to significantly reduce COX-2, TNF-alpha, Interleukin 2, and Interferon gamma.

Our most recent human clinicals has shown ParActin to be effective in normalizing hematocrit, hemogloblin, CRP protein, and Rheumatoid Factor in early stage rheumatoid arthritis patients. ParActin is an amazing fast acting product that works within 30 minutes to relieve minor pain. When compared to NSAIDs, ParActin is more effective than NSAIDs during the initial first 2 weeks of clinical trials in reducing pain and rigidity. While on ParActin, volunteers only take NSAIDs ~ 5% of the study period to reduce pain compare to 55% for placebo group. Patients taking ParActin® are also experiencing significant reduction in fatigue.

We have plans to publish additional research on Alzheimer, Multiple Screlosis, and animal study showing the effects of Paractin on the mineralization in MC3T3-E1 cells bones with the deposit of calcium. Therefore, it could be of use in osteoporosis. We are currently conducting a human clinical on Duschenne Muscular Dystrophy, and the preliminary trial is looking very promising.
