FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Camarillo, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 31, 2010 --

(Camarillo, CA) Kay Diamond, president of California HR Rescue, a company which provides outsourced human resources (HR) services to small and medium-sized businesses, recently began teaching MPA 643, a Human Resources Management course at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Diamond, who has been teaching the master’s degree-level course for the past two years, is covering such human resources topics as corporate accountability and fiscal control, personnel recruitment and selection, employee motivation, compensation, training and development, performance appraisals, and public sector labor relations.

Diamond notes, “This course is a basic, human resources primer for those going into business or working for non-profits. In today’s world, it is important that everyone have a clear understanding of labor laws, which are very complex and constantly changing. Managers at all levels within any organization with more than one employee have significant HR responsibilities. Ignorance of the law is no excuse and non-compliance can be extremely costly in terms of fines and even criminal charges.”

She says that many of the 34 CSUN students in her eight-week class may be getting a first glimpse of HR through this program. “Human resources is not often top-of-mind at a company, however, it has an extremely important role in attracting and retaining quality people, not to mention keeping companies from running afoul of the many laws and regulations on the books.”

She will teach the course again in the spring of 2011. The course is outlined on her website at www.californiahrrescue.com. For more information on her class and the Master’s Degree of Public Administration program at CSUN, go online at www.csun.edu.
