Hurricane Wind Power Wind Turbine Technologies LLC of Virginia manufactures VAWT

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 23, 2010 -- Hurricane Wind Power wind turbine technologies LLC of Virginia announced today that their VAWT or Vertical Axis Wind turbine will go into production immediately. They will be available in early 2011 for purchase. These turbines were developed in response to the overwhelming demand for these products by our consumers. The Turbine features a Savonius rotor design and uses the technology of the new Louisville Legend PMA’s released in early November by Hurricanewindpower.com.

The legend PMA had the ability to create 12 volts at a low 50 RPM. The generators are wound in stages i.e gauge of wire used in the stator. This allows the wind generator to be built custom to the buyers needs based on there wind zone. The legend also has a closed face with a mechanical fan to keep the windings cool which makes it perfect for this design. There has been a lot of interest expressed for the new line of products. Many people are just taken buy the look of the turbine however, there are numerous reason sited by people that draw them to this style of turbine. In many areas local ordinances that do not allow placing a conventional horizontal Axis Wind Turbine will allow VAWT’s. The same holds true with many home owners associations. For these reasons the VAWT has become very popular with urban consumers as well as environmentalists who are concerned with the incidence of bird strikes.

The Hurricane Skyline series will be modular in construction. This will allow it to be shipped world wide. The Skyline will be the first made in USA Vertical Axis wind turbine available on a large scale with a price tag under two thousand dollars, or at least that we are aware of. The skyline will be available with a stamped engineered roof mount and will be able to be grid tied with a UL listed grid tie inverter. Pans are already in the works to develop an even larger models that will utilize the modular construction where the consumer can add to the rotor for increase power output with a larger generator.
