Husband Attempts to Create Largest Virtual BIrthday Card for Wife

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 9, 2010 -- Scott Forsyth, a screenwriter, newlywed, and self-proclaimed "social media marketing addict", is attempting to create the world’s largest virtual birthday card. And he's using Facebook to do it.

"It just struck me as a really interesting idea," says Scott about his - Help Me Wish My Wife A Happy Birthday!! - Facebook page. "She's never been interested in the monetary value of a gift. But make it something fun, creative, interesting -- now that's the gift she'll remember for a lifetime."

His wife, Desiree, no stranger to social media, is an Audience Marketing Manager for a large business-to-business publisher. She is an expert on Search Engine Optimization and Social Media Marketing.

"Part of the challenge for me is seeing how many people I can get to 'sign' her virtual birthday card without her knowing about it," he says. "I've had to keep her friends in the dark so as not to give away the surprise and that really slows down the process."

Asked if this is an actual record breaking attempt or just a social marketing stunt, Scott only laughs. "Honestly, I just think the idea of giving my wife a birthday card with 1,000, or 5,000, or 10,000 strangers names attached to it seems like a really cool idea."

He encourages everyone to become a fan and post a birthday wish to his wife.

"If this actually did break some kind of record...now that would be pretty cool. But I don't hold out much hope for that. Really, I'm just looking for a great present to give my wife."
