SONATA-CAM for the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata allows you to add a rear view camera to your factory navigation screen. Operation and integration of the SONATA-CAM is seamless and a rear view camera image is displayed automatically whenever the vehicle is placed into reverse.SONATA-CAM is plug-and-play and can be ordered either with a reverse camera or without.

Only about 10 percent of Sonatas sold with navigation systems also include back up cameras from the factory. That option costs $990 for the harness plus $299 for the camera and $450 for a module. About 18,000 Sonatas sell a month presently.

“Hyundai of America sold over 18,000 Sonata vehicles each month during March and April of this year. However, only around 10% of navigation equipped vehicles came equipped from the factory with the backup camera option. With rear view camera integration device like the SONATA-CAM, avoidable backover accidents and deaths can be drastically reduced. According to the nonprofit organization Kids and Cars, 44 percent of non-traffic fatalities of children under 15 were caused by backover accidents. The area around the vehicle that the driver can’t see, either directly or with the use of side or rear view mirrors, is a blind spot. Adding a rear view camera to your existing navigation LCD screen is the best deterrent to preventing an avoidable accident or death by allowing you to clearly see children or other objects in your rear blind spot.

NAV-TV’s SONATA-CAM is designed, engineered and validated to provide a high quality product with the look and feel of a factory-installed system. It is specifically designed to be dealer and/or user upgradeable for future product enhancements via the included USB cable. Unlike other rear view camera solutions that display a small rear view camera image on an aftermarket rear view mirror, SONATA-CAM integrates directly with the vehicles network and navigation radio.
