I DARE you to DREAM

* When is the last time you heard a politician espouse new ideas. Ideas without government and legislative strings attached. When is the last time you were excited about our future, about "what is possible", about reaching for the moon and shooting for the stars. When has someone gotten you to imagine or motivated you to be innovative. When is the last time you believed that you would have a bright future, your kids and grand kids will have the same. With inspiration, with lofty goals, with new solutions for the economy, energy, the environment, with building industry, with government out of our pockets and in their proper place as representatives of the people...we can and will achieve great things. We need to do more than simply "Dream" we need to "Dare to Dream" we need to be passionate about our future for America. We need to innovate, imagine, invent and work hard to restore our "Dream".

* Imagine this if you will....the cost of energy has become a burden to many of us. The need to preserve our resources, and protect the environment has become an issue. The solution has been being provided to us by the government and special interests, who believe that by regulation of industry, land use, through concepts such as cap and trade, emission standards, and so on they will save us from ourselves...you get the idea.

Have they been imaginative in their approach, no. They have coupled their ideas with power and control. We have been reduced to a "can't do this" or "can't do that" society. How is that going to foster innovation, it won't.

If you think of all of the great inventions which have been developed in this country, by folks such as Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, the Wright brothers, Alexander Graham Bell… the list is endless. Many of these inventions came out of a “bike shop”, a basement or a garage. Stop and think, we still have inventors walking among us. We have graduates of technical Institutes, who may be knowledgeable in robotics, in nascent technologies and more. Where are they? Are they working in MacDonald’s, Walmart, Dunkin donuts or are they working for a corporation that suppresses innovation over the interests of shareholders and profit? No matter where, they are here. The government can not outsource talent and they can not outsource the American spirit and our innovators who are just waiting for the opportunity for someone to facilitate them in their dream and us in ours. They are waiting for opportunity, they are hoping to fulfill their dreams. All of our kids want to fulfill their dreams and we need to help them. We need to reignite patriotism, we need to make our country what it was intended to be by our founders and we need to restore for our kids…”life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”.
Far to often, politicians and special interest groups utilize abstract terms in describing concepts “stakeholders”, “mission”, “goals”, “objectives”, ”smart growth”, “land use”, “regionalization”, “intergovernmental cooperation”, pretty terms for hideous agenda’s. They provide no concrete ideas, no details, they are unimaginative, they are global thinkers and group thinkers, with group blueprints. They need to be confronted and relegated to a place where the sun no longer shines on them and their blueprint belongs in the local landfill.

The purpose of writing this paper is to provide concrete ideas and concepts to get the American people to imagine again, to believe in what is possible, and to get excited enough to grab onto these ideas and move forward in a positive way .
Here is a concept that may make this possible. Using our innovation and ingenuity, America can develop new technologies that will provide highly energy efficient systems which will eliminate our dependence on oil. With new inventions, not only will we have highly energy efficient systems, it will be good for the environment, it will create new jobs for now and into the future, new industries will be born, and industries that have left our shores need to be "reborn". Government needs to take a back seat and work for the people again.

Let's get specific now and set a lofty goal. We are on the verge of a new "industrial revolution". America needs to protect what is about to become our new future. We can not outsource these jobs and we can not give away our intellectual property. There are three fields which are being born now. Nanotechnology, Spintronics, & Biotechnology. At the present time each of these fields are unique to themselves. What are these technologies? Some may throw cold water on these ideas, defining them as “hazardous” to society. It is because they are afraid that innovation will spoil their plans and that America will become America again. Let’s explore a few ideas.

Nanotechnology: A basic definition: Nanotechnology is the engineering of functional systems at the molecular scale. This covers both current work and concepts that are more advanced. In its original sense, 'nanotechnology' refers to the projected ability to construct items from the bottom up, using techniques and tools being developed today to make complete, high performance products.
In simple terms new highly efficient materials that are engineered at the molecular level.

Spintronics: Spintronics is a nascent form of electronics which uses the magnetic state (spin) of electrons to encode and process data, rather than using electric charge. Technically, spin is a quantum property, closely related to but not exactly the same thing as magnetism. Spintronics is therefore sometimes regarded as exploiting quantum effects. An electron can possess either an up or down spin, depending on its magnetic orientation. The magnetism of ferroelectric materials, nonconductors which become polarized when exposed to an electric field, exists because many of the electrons in such objects all have the same spin.

Bio-Technology: Biotechnology is a field of biology that involves the use of living things in engineering, technology, medicine, etc.. Modern use of the term refers to genetic engineering as well as cell- and tissue culture technologies.

Converging technologies: With advances in these technologies will eventually come convergence of these technologies. Space age materials will provide "superconductivity". It will reduce the consumption of energy, because of it's high efficiency, by so much that our dependence on oil will decrease in by a massive amount. What will the possible result be, lower electric rates, positive impact on the environment, because of the massive reduction in carbon. New construction materials, will provide energy efficient homes, reduce cost to industry and make America competitive. The Materials will be the result of Nanotechnology, coupled with new super micro circuitry providing smart energy devices. Quantum computers will come into being, making your home PC more powerful than the current supercomputer at say the Pentagon. New materials and super micro circuits developed using spintronics will converge with Biotechnology to facilitate major advances in medical technology.

Today in America there are many small businesses engaged in development of these technologies. We need to embrace this, develop this industry, protect it and innovate and develop new products that we can export. It will provide good paying jobs for us, our kids, and future generations, provided we the American people, stop the government from being the solution. We need to be the solution.

The next concept here is our existing industries or our industries that have been exported. We need to start fresh with small businesses, whether it be, a textile mill, a paper mill, a steel mill, machine shop. we need to rebuild our industrial capability. Large Corporations will not do this for us. We need to utilize our small business ingenuity and start fresh, so that American companies with American employees will be in control of these industries. Small business will be the key to our success. If some one is out of work has no future prospect then we need to devise ways to get our workers to start their own business, with the skills they have acquired. We need venture capital, facilities for new businesses and workers with the skills to accomplish the job. So reindustrialization is the next key to rebuilding the Dream.

Next is food! Do you want your food to come from China or other countries or do you want our farmers to have viable and profitable farms. We as Americans need to support our Farmers. We need to provide incentives for people would want to farm to become farmers and we need to make certain they are profitable. We need to send the message to Farmers that we will use Farmers Markets and cooperatives to purchase our food products. The profit will go to the farmers & not, the wholesalers or the big supermarket chains. Think of it this way...the Farmers will make more and we will pay less. It will save our farms and provide an incentive for more farmers, to begin farming.

Next our fishing industry and it's future. New Zealand has set up "Marine Sanctuaries" covering approximately 20% of its fishing grounds. It allows species to regenerate and protects them. as the fish population increases they migrate beyond the borders of the sanctuaries into waters where fishermen are allowed to fish. The fishing industry there has rebounded and through the use of this concept will be preserved for future generations. There are the least possible restrictions on gear and species and there are no "season limits". Today in the United States, due to government control of the industry, it has lost it's viability. We need to employ Marine sanctuaries as a way to save our industry and provide fish for all of our future generations.
You get the basic idea here, every facet of our life can be improved, if government is restored to its proper role, every possible avenue and industry can be revamped and revitalized using new concepts and ideas. Every American can be a part of it and every American will benefit from it

I Dare you to Dream about what is possible and take action on what is plausible. Save the future of America, for our kids and generations beyond. We have got to replace government, with patriots to help us facilitate our future. We need people who can "imagine the future", we need representatives who want to work for the people again. Who will embrace this lofty challenge and help facilitate a rebirth of America. We want Patriots to embrace the American Dream, to imagine what is possible & to be original in their approach and positive in their message to the American people. We do not need status quo politicians. We need people who have vision, who can imagine, who can project these goals and get the people excited about our future. We need leaders to lead and we need to put an end to this madness of restricting our potential and move forward. The people need to be the stewards of our great nation and government should serve us, not the other way around. The leaders in Washington and at the state level do not truly care about our country, the constitution and our future or they would embrace this. I dare to Dream, I dare patriots to lead, I dare them to be the Americans we portray ourselves to be, to be fiscally responsible, to stop arguing over for and against social issues that are destroying the fabric of our country. We need to return to the precepts of the constitution and arguing and advocating for special interests have frankly left Americans out of the equation. I dare everyone to put on their American hat and abandon party ideology for the greater good of our country. I dare them to change government and restore it to it’s original intent. I dare them to develop coherent legislation and read it and understand it before they vote on it. I dare them to rid regulatory burden that is inhibiting business, innovation and invention and I dare them to stop placing fees on us, end all unfunded mandates and other mandates and reserve to the states their sovereign rights, without strings attached. Do you dare to be a patriot and do you dare to represent the people of the United States of America. Finally I dare them to end accession to International organizations that will dictate our future and return to sovereignty & the concept of "Fair" trade between Nations. The President is not the leader of the Free World, he is the executive who is supposed to serve America. The President needs to be humble and reject the office as a title of nobility. A President needs to put the people first and the giveaway needs to end. I Dare a new President to embrace this, I dare him to hold the core values of honesty and integrity and a commitment to the constitution close to his heart and hold himself close to the people, for the people. And I dare all new representative patriots to do the same.
We need to do this for America....there is no other choice!
