I Joined Guitar Tricks.com and Canceled the Same Day: Final Part

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 15, 2010 -- I have to mention another great guy, Hanspeter, teaching Jazz Blues approaches, and the importance of counting. If this site were taught like these few shining exceptions, it would truly be deserving of the gold standard of Internet Guitar lessons of this nature.

Quantity doesn't always equal quality however, and, in the end, what I think this site needs is a good updating and remodeling of fluff and filler content versus content that actually teaches. There should be some Quality Control Standards implemented to ensure that the site does what it promises to do and that is teach. Teaching is sporadic at this site, with a few exceptions, as noted above, and that is why I am disappointed.

There are a few things, that are well done there and for absolute beginners, you will be hard pressed to find a better starting point than Lisa McCormick. Is the site worth the $14.95 a month? For total beginners and some it might be. If a beginner enrolled at our site, at http://rnbacademy.com, I might suggest they also enroll at Guitar Tricks as a Supplemental site. Lisa McCormick is a fantastic teacher, as far as total beginner material is concerned, like strumming, chords, first songs etc. Ours is different, we go from teaching Mastery of the Notes on the Neck, straight into learning to play Lead Guitar all over the neck in every Key. There's not a lot of similarity on what we do here with what they do on their site, and we understand that. We never expected that there would be.

There is some content that really delivers, but you have to look far and wide for it. In the end, I have determined that I will find most of the unique and well presented content in the next 30 days, which is why I have canceled my membership to this site and asked not to be re-billed.
