Mr. Chaudhuri in a discussion regarding plans with the new venture mentioned the changing sports scenario in India and how through Planman Stars he would like to promote and support all kinds of sports in India. We hope to see a market created due to fusion of sports as entertainment delivered in an exciting format through the i1 Series and do hope to make our franchisee as the most celebrated top of mind sports team in India, encouraging young India to get into active sports in these days of video gaming, and entertain people at large with excitement of car racing with its glitz and glamour.”

The nation had awaited the inaugural Indian Grand Prix with bated breath, the arrival of the Formula 1 car along with those that drive these technological marvels created frenzy like no other. The hysteria was yet to die down; The i1 Super Series was announced. Based on the hugely popular Indian Premier League (IPL) format, it is scheduled to start in January 2012 and the races will be held in India, The UAE, Malaysia, Bahrain & Qatar. This motor race format will have nine franchises based on nine different cities in India.
