Teaching English as a Foreign Language, commonly known as TEFL, refers to any one person teaching English to a student whose native tongue is not English. Usually TEFL instructors are found working in countries other than their home country. TEFL is also abbreviated as TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages) and TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language). These three acronyms, among others, can be used interchangeably, but we refer to the program as TEFL here at Íbero IBERO School.
Íbero is an institutional member of the world-renowned The College of Teachers (UK). The Buenos Aires Government and The Cervantes Institute also recognize Íbero as does SEA (Association of Language Schools of Argentina), Argentina’s Secretary of Tourism and Education. Lonely Planet South America edition and Time Out Travel Guides recommend studying at Íbero as well.
Our TEFL tutors have years of experience teaching English and know exactly what skills you need to become a successful English teacher. “We have worked very hard over the years in order to achieve the best academic quality in all our programs, TEFL has been a big challenge. I wrote the book and edited with other ESOL ans ESL professionals” says Florencia Bozzano, Director and Co- Founder of Íbero Spanish/TEFL School.
Íbero IBERO School is unique because we provide two options for our students interested in becoming TEFL certified. The first option provides the student with four weeks including 100 hours of intense TEFL training and six hours of teaching time. This option also includes three weeks of intensive Spanish courses the student can take before or after their TEFL training. This option is ideal for the TEFL student interested in teaching English in a Spanish-speaking country. The second option excludes the three week Spanish course and instead offers four weeks of over 100 hours of TEFL training.
Our school is located right in the center of Buenos Aires. The building itself is a piece of history, once being home to the most famous tango singer Carlos Gardel. All of our classrooms are equipped with audiovisual equipment, airconditioning for hot summer months, Wi-Fi throughout the building, computers for students to use and coffee and tea in the welcome lobby. As a student at Íbero IBERO school you will benefit from our years of experience and our self-designed line of coursebooks.
If you are interested in teaching English in a foreign country, choosing to become TEFL certified here at Íbero IBERO School in the heart of Buenos Aires is an excellent choice.
