IBMS Celebrates 45th Anniversary With Continued Growth

September 14, 2009

Industrial balancing and machining company thrives recession by providing cost effective solutions for US manufacturers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 14, 2009 -- Friday, September 14, 2009 - The Midwest has long been the home for honest, hardworking and innovative industries. In an economy where many corporations are cutting back and holding off on future growth plans, Menomonee Falls based IBMS continues on the course began by it’s founder, Ken Castle, 45 years ago.

Ken Castle began Industrial Balancing Services (IBS) in 1964 when he saw a need for outsourcing balancing services to manufacturers burdened with the cost to maintain a balancing shop internally. Outsourcing balancing services was a hit in the manufacturing industry. IBS quickly grew with Ken’s guidance and commitment to find new and better ways to serve his customers and expand his company.

In the 1980’s, IBS laid down the plans to add machining services and expand the company to Industrial Balancing and Machining Services, Inc. By combining these two outsourced services, Castle was able to provide significant savings and turnaround time to manufacturers who needed machined parts, pre-balanced and shipped to them.

Thanks to Ken’s foresight, the Turnkey Program is helping other manufacturing companies remain competitive in today’s tough market. The Turnkey Program eliminates the need to use multiple vendors, cuts down on expensive shipping costs between vendors and keeps manufacturers on schedule.

Dedicated to providing outstanding quality, Ken Castle continued to purchase equipment to keep up with the changing technology in manufacturing and became known for creating solutions to difficult and often one of a kind, balancing and machining projects. Ken has since retired and handed the reigns to his son, Scott Castle.

“We were always challenged to think beyond filling orders,” Scott Castle says. He continues,“We’ve done everything from a 30,000 lb. flywheel to 1 oz components. We get calls the other guy’s don’t because of our reputation for innovative thinking and our dedication to helping our customers out.”

Evidence of that can be seen on their website, where a red phone is displayed along side a note to visitors about their 24 hour a day, 7 days a week emergency service. “We’ve always been a hands on company.” Scott laughs when explaining that the number is to his own cell phone. “It’s in the blood.”
