HVAC-Electric-Plumbing leader donates “ice skating party” for more than 100 foster children

“‘Tis the season, right?”
Alexandria, VA – Michael and Son Services, the longtime Alexandria home repair and home remodeling business, is again donating a FREE SKATE PARTY at KETTELRS ICEPLEX in Arlington on Saturday, December 18th from 3:15 to 6:30pm.

Michael and Son Services happily celebrates this activity on behalf of 100-plus children who presently are living in foster care programs.
Basim Mansour, president of the company, said, “Too many of these young people are all too familiar with neglect and abuse; it is our hope that providing them with a happy, festive experience like this might go a long way in making their Holiday season as pleasant as it can be. These are youngsters from two super organizations that we’re reaching out to: Child Help and Pressley Ridge.”

The Alice C. Tyler Village of Childhelp is a safe and secure residential treatment facility that provides a continuum of healing services for severely abused, neglected and at-risk children. http://www.childhelp.org And Pressley Ridge provides an array of services to troubled and developmentally challenged children while helping these children remain close to their families and communities. http://www.pressleyridge.org
Mansour said the event will highlight ice skating, food and personal gift packages (including both toys and clothing) for each child.

Mansour concluded, “This is the second year we’ve run with this idea and feel it is a great way to showcase how we feel at Michael and Son about our role in the community. Making a charitable donation like this for some great kids and such a worthy cause makes us feel like we’ve done a good deed, sure…but more importantly, seeing the smiles on these youngsters’ faces will be fantastic. After all, isn’t that what this wonderful time of the year is all about?”
