IContain allies with InSeT Systems to deploy hyper-accurate tracking technologies in subterranean mines

IContain LTD and InSeT Systems LLC have paired to bring incredibly accurate and time-sensitive location data to emergency response personnel.
InSeT Systems' Inertial Tracking Unit (ITU) and IContain's device-agnostic tracking software allow location data to be gathered and displayed from subterranean mines and other - previously impossible - locales.
Until now, the Location Based Services industry has relied heavily on technologies such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) or Radio Frequency (RF) triangulation to obtain usable tracking data. These systems are limited in the sense that signals are not readily available in all areas and situations. The accuracy of these solutions is also highly volatile. Even in the best of circumstances, GPS 'drift' renders data accurate within a margin of error down to 10 meters, or 30 feet.
InSeT Systems' Mesh Network and ITU provide an unprecedented level of accuracy - to within 10 feet - even after twenty-four hours of tracking in the most adverse of scenarios. The ITU also includes real-time voice and text communication, and is small enough to be carried on a belt.
IContain tracking software integrates data, from the ITU as well as conventional, inexpensive LBS technologies, into a format that quickly displays the real-time position of each and every device in use. It also houses the power to interact with each device quickly. InSeT Systems Chief Operating Officer Jay Breeding notes, “InSeT Systems is very pleased to be partnered with IContain. The addition of their graphic interface completes the system. Their efforts in the Pacific Rim and South Africa will help bring this technology to these areas and help us fulfill our mission of helping underground workers, and others in GPS denied areas, go home to their families at the end of the day.”
"IContain is very proud to be in partnership with Inset", remarked IContain President Todd Kleperis. "It is clear that Inset is leading the industry into new areas with the inertial tracking unit. The markets for this product are endless, and our teams are also poised to capture a significant market from existing, legacy, RF based systems. Before now, no system could get within 3 meters of a fallen person with reasonable certainty. In nightmarish scenarios like a cave-in or a collapse, everyone wants to see the guys come home OK. Inset is helping to make that a more likely outcome and we're happy to be on-board."
