The iMag reader provides convenience for both consumers and merchants, offering buyers alternative methods of payment and allowing sellers to accept credit cards wherever they go. With the iMag, merchants avoid paying expensive “card-not-present” fees associated with credit card transactions made without a credit card reader, and have the added convenience of quick, secure credit card authorizations.

The iMag attaches to the bottom of the iPhone and connects electronically through the 30-pin dock connector. The iMag’s ergonomic form factor fits snugly on the iPhone and comfortably in the user’s hand. No external power supply is required, and a mini-USB port enables the iPhone to be charged while connected to the iMag.

ID TECH utilizes its superior card reading and encryption technology on the iMag, turning the iPhone into a credit card transaction terminal. The iMag is capable of reading up to three tracks of credit card data with a minimum durability of 300,000 card reads. The user-friendly device allows credit cards to be swiped in either direction to complete the transaction, eliminating confusion while providing reliable card reading. The iMag also supports TDES and AES encryption with DUKPT key management to provide secure credit card transactions.
