(Free-Press-Release.com) August 27, 2009 --
Before becoming the new voice and face of IDTheftQuiz.com, Ms. Cavanaugh worked for daily newspapers The Palm Beach Post and The Tallahassee Democrat. As a free-lance reporter her articles were also published in The Pulse, the monthly newsletter of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Her personal experience with identity theft fuels her mission to use http://www.IDTheftQuiz.com as a vehicle to provide important, up-to-date, helpful information to consumers concerned about ID theft issues.
“The work I do for IDTheftQuiz.com has one purpose: to help others avoid becoming ID theft victims. Once people are aware of the risks we all face—whether it’s low-tech dumpster divers, or international cyber-crime rings—readers can use that information to protect themselves,” she said.
Ms. Cavanaugh’s five-year battle as an ID theft victim began with a notice from her bank saying her checking account was in the red. That’s when she learned her personal information had been used in Sacramento to buy Star Wars memorabilia; in Newark to pay for car repairs and in Tampa to open a utility account.
Ms. Cavanaugh will be writing about ID theft prevention and protection, as well as the risks of massive data breaches, viruses and the techniques ID thieves use.
