If We 'E" It, Will They Come: Tech Consultant/Librarian to “e” audiences in Milan, Italy 8/27/09

Pittsburgh Technology Consultant/Librarian to “e” audiences in Milan, Italy
Pittsburgh, PA, August 20, 2009 - - Technology Consultant and Librarian extraordinaire, Ida A. Joiner, will be a featured speaker on electronic learning (e-Learning) at the World Library and Information Congress 75th IFLA Conference in Milan, Italy on August 27, 2009.
Ms. Joiner will present “If We ‘E’ It, Will They Come: Lifelong e-Learning at a Large Urban Public Library.” She will discuss how the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh during these challenging economic times, promotes anywhere-anytime lifelong e-Learning to its ever-expanding population.
Ms. Joiner recently developed e-Learning solutions for Visa International’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. She also created the Internet Safety for Children web site including the content and slogan: “Be Safe… Be Smart… Have Fun Online!” for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh to teach children and parents Internet safety.
In addition, she created the “Apply Online” database application and colorized logo for the Pittsburgh Public Schools. She has developed web-based training materials, databases, curriculum, web sites, web content, documentation, proposals, grants, databases, press releases, and performance/technology improvement solutions for Visa International, AT&T, Carnegie Library, Pittsburgh Public Schools, University of Pittsburgh, PNC Bank, Federated Investors, and other clients. She is also a substitute librarian for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh where she assists patrons throughout CLP including Reference Services, Children’s Department, Job Career Education Center, Foundation Center, and the Library for the Blind and Handicapped.
Ida has published several articles on e-Learning, social networking (RSS), and selecting an application service provider (ASP).
Ms. Joiner is a graduate of Chatham University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administration and Management and a graduate of the School of Information Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh with a Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences.
