ECS Travel has been selected as an Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Operator for 2011! Learn what is behind an Inca trail Operator.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 16, 2010 --
In ECS Travel we want to share our happiness for having been selected as an Inca Trail Operator for 2011, it is our third year as a licensed Inca Trail Operator!
We must thank all our customers who have given us the chance to serve them and our great team of Quechua Porters (from Cancha Cancha community) our great Cooks (Demetrio and Edgar), our outstanding Guides (Dennis, Lizeth and Mario) and specially Julio Cesar the man who runs ECS Travel office in Cusco!
An Inca Trail Operator licensed is granted only to local Tour Operators or Travel Agencies that have accomplished the following requirements:
1. An updated certificate issued by DIRCETUR -Cusco (Direccion de Comercio Exterior y Turismo) that states the Applicant is a Travel Agency or Tour Operator.
2. A Storehouse located in Cusco.
3. An official Statement of the minimum Trek Equipment required for organizing treks to Machu Picchu. This document must list only equipment in good condition with the Logo of the company; Inca Trail authorities will inspect them any time.
4. A small flag with the logo of the company to identify the company during the Inca Trail treks.
5. A certificate issued by Direccion Regional de Cultura Cusco, DIRCETUR and INDECOPI (The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property) that states that the applicant has not been sanctioned for any infraction in the Inca Trail.
These are basically requirements just to apply for the Inca Trail License, once the license is granted the Inca Trail Operator must find the right team of Quechua Porters, Cook and Guides. It is very exciting to interact with these guys; they are the real experts on the Inca trail hikes, all of them were born and live in the Peruvian Andes and speak Quechua!
ECS Travel is committed to offering you the most memorable and authentic experience in the Andes thanks to our great Guides and Porters.
As mentioned earlier, ECS Travel has been an Inca Trail Operator since 2009; however the company started providing tailor-made tours of Peru since 2001. Our main office is located in Miraflores, Lima where we have worked from the beginning and in 2008 we opened our Cusco office in order to apply for the Inca Trail License. As an Inca Trail Operator we can ensure all our customers have a quality Inca Trail Trek and a memorable experience.
We use 4-season Tents (REI, Kelty Quartz and The North Face VE 25 tents), self-inflating sleeping pads (REI and Therma Rest), Sleeping bags for extreme temperatures (The North face Snowshoe and Cat’s Meow), REI Trail Stools, Dining Tents, Cooking Tent and all the equipment required to have a great Inca Trail Trek.
