Due to the overwhelming response and success of the past two years of the DMV EMA shows, the producer has rebranded, repackaged and expanded this awards event to reach artists from across the country. In 2011 the movement begins with honoring unsigned, independent artists within the Mid-Atlantic region to include the markets of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Introducing the 2011 Mid-Atlantic Independent Entertainment Awards™ (“The MIEAs"), the future in independent music and entertainment! Don’t be fooled by shows attempting to imitate. The MIEAs is not only an awards event but an evolving artist movement celebrating the most innovative unsigned musicians, producers, songwriters, bands, DJs, dance crews, models, and multi-media leaders destined to reach the ‘top’ all on their own. The MIEAs are a great way for artists to gain accessibility to creative and effective ways to publicize and market their products. Starting January 2011, The MIEAs will launch a series of pre-award show concerts in addition to a business music seminar. These events will be designed to build excitement and promotion, but more importantly provide independent artists and emerging entertainment businesses with tools and resources in strategic branding, marketing and promotion, distribution options, and legal information which will effectively enhance their businesses and boost product sales to sustain their art form long-term. Each event preceding the ‘big award show’ will aid the MIEAs “Give Back” program where a percentage of events proceeds will be donated to selected charity organizations that support the arts. During The MIEAs award ceremony, there will be a live competition voted on by audience members and viewers, which will select the biggest award of the evening, the MIEAs Entertainer of the Year. Other honorees will include community service leaders, online/social network trendsetters, as well as industry movers and shakers.
