Independence Party of America Chairman Frank MacKay Releases First Book, "The Network Interviews"

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 4, 2009 -- New York, NY - Sept. 4th 2009 - Independence Party of America Chairman Frank MacKay will release his first book next month, "The Network Interviews."

The book is a compilation of interviews Frank MacKay and his brother Gordon did in the late 80's when they ran a New York City/Long Island area music newspaper they started called Network. The over 40 interviews in the 300-page book include such big names as Guns 'N Roses, Bon Jovi, KISS, Metallica and many more. These interviews have not been seen since their original run in Network between the years 1986-1989.

“We were young guys, but already very active in managing, booking, and promoting bands,” says Frank MacKay. “We couldn't even legally enter the clubs we booked bands in. We started the original Network paper in 1986 to help promote our bands we managed, and it just took off.”

Frank MacKay has a music history past, including managing such high-profile names as C.J. Ramone of the legendary Ramones, and the world's most popular magician, Criss Angel. MacKay even produced Angel's very first music demos. He still is a major supporter of independent music.

Co-written with his brother Gordon (who runs the Straw House Records label) and Steven Fallon. Besides the interviews, the book is full of 80's rock star stories and encounters. The Network Interviews" is set to be the definitive account of an era often neglected of its due. "The 80's heavy metal scene was a special time," says Frank. "This new book puts it all in perspective. The interviews, the history, how Network was created...it's all in there."
