FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 26, 2009 -- The 10-anniversary of the Far Rockaway resident's move to Los Angeles is more than just a chance to celebrate with his New York family for Angelo Bell. It also served as inspiration for the folks he left behind when he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a screenwriting career.

Bell, who relocated from New York City to Los Angeles, had a wonderful time phoning his family and friends back home to tell them that his film would be on television. He described it as a surreal experience, as if felt like he'd been transported back to 1999 when he first made the decision to move to California. He couldn't help but wonder, though, how many people in the past made similar moves in search of a inspiring and fulfilling career.

The film, which had its world premiere in June at the Hollywood Black Film Festival, is going to be aired as a seven-episode television series starting Monday on AMG-TV. All episodes will be shown at 7 p.m. on consecutive Mondays.

While viewers in certain areas do not have access to AMG-TV, they can watch "Broken Hearts Club" via the Internet in a live Webcast on KCTU, an AMG-TV affiliate in Wichita, Kan. To see it, go to http://www.kctu.com and click on the "KCTU NetCast, 43 Live Online 24/7" link in the center of the page. The first episode will air at 7 p.m. Monday, and subsequent episodes will air on the next six Mondays in the same time slot.

"Broken Hearts Club" tells the story of Dr. Thiebold, an apathetic clinical psychiatrist who prefers treated the criminally insane and the morally bankrupt. However, the good doctor's life is turned upside down when he's forced to treat a barrage of melodramatic highly emotional brokenhearted couples.

While the film does shed light on social concepts of monogamy and fidelity, which affects millions of couples worldwide, "Broken Hearts Club" has a broader focus that just about everyone can relate to, Bell said.

"Dr. Thiebold is one of an ensemble of characters dealing with emotional anxiety, from loneliness to passive aggressiveness to fear of the unknown," he said. "I tried to show that every couple has an emotional experience that fits within this vast range of emotional anxiety and that we can all get past them with help, and sometimes help is as simple as talking to someone." Bell, who wrote, directed and produced the film/series, says that while he is happily married with four children, he found he could relate to all the characters.

Before exploring his passion for directing and producing, Bell spent over a decade honing is writing talents. Now Bell espouses the freedom of independent filmmaking. He has been quoted in Filmmaker Magazine, has seen his work air on the Independent Film Channel, and set a record at the Los Angeles ShortsFest when four of his films were selected. He currently resides in the Southern California area.

He's currently working on an epic fantasy script and developing the sequel to "Broken Hearts Club."
