Indian American Girl takes the first step to Beverly Hills
Eight year old Collegeville, PA girl Ashraya Ananthanarayanan takes her first step into the world of Beverly Hills by getting published in a book titled JOYFUL VOLUNTEERING by Ninon De Vere De Rosa.

Joyful Volunteering celebrates volunteering at its best. Learn and be inspired by others like you who are changing the world by consciously making a difference! This is about you, your neighbors and your community. Volunteers are at the heart and soul of opening doors for others and themselves. Volunteers are the unsung heroes of society. Volunteering is the gift that keeps on giving.
Ashraya was chosen for this book as Voices of Tomorrow for her tireless efforts of volunteering for human and animal welfare. She was in 2007 awarded the compassionate kid award by PETA for saving the life of a captive turtle. Further she also recieved the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award for using her talents in Fine Arts to garnish support and funds for several charitable organizations like Cancer Research foundation, Balabhavan, Karunashram, PFA and many other individuals.
As Ninon puts it in her book " Ashraya is that little precious gem who amidst all the volunteering effort always stands in advanced level in academics and ensures that education is given equal importance. She seems to have dedicated her life for Joyful volunteering.
Ashraya is currently in the process of starting her own Kids club project for benefiting the under privilaged children of India by joining hands with Kids talk Foundation. Also her Book THE RING OF HOPE(An Ocean of Compassion) shall be distributed as free copies to all the public libraries, schools and orphanages both in the US and India so that children can have free accress to the same just like any other kid who would be able to purchase it. It is a book which brings to light "Where there is a Will there is a Way". Ashraya hopes that her book will inspire children around the world to dream big and have the confidence to achieve their dreams in a compassionate manner. Compassion and Knowledge can create fine citizens says this Eight year old. Compassion seems like a little word but it's meaning is like the ocean says Ashraya. Life looks and feels really magical when we mix compassion with life.
