(Free-Press-Release.com) September 20, 2011 --
Since 2007 Indiana's small employers have enjoyed a tax credit for wellness programs offered to their employees. According to the state Department of Workforce Development, companies with 99 employees or under represent nearly 41 percent of all private sector employment, or more than 1 million employees.
January 1, 2012 the Indiana Employer Wellness Tax Credit will not longer be available.
October 1,2011 is the deadline for application submission to the ISDH - 2011 tax year. However, companies have until December 31, 2011 to implement their employee worksite wellness program and still benefit from the tax credit.
Cindy Cohen, owner of C2 Your Health LLC has been helping local companies submit Indiana Employer Wellness Tax Credit applications for 3 years with 100% approval rate. Cohen says "This was such a great service to the small employer. Now many will not be able to offer the same level wellness to their employees who might otherwise been able to".
