The most powerful equipment that Hyundai is unleashing for loyal fans is the new 5.0L V8 engine that will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The first models to have the new engine will be the Equus and Genesis – consequently, the horsepower for these models will increase to 429 hp. Genesis shoppers can expect to test drive the new apparatus early next year, while the Equus won’t get the new engine until the 2012 model year. Car shoppers searching for a 2011 Hyundai Accent near Indianapolis may want to wait a bit longer to test drive the new engine before they make a final vehicle purchase.

The engineers at Hyundai have also created two new four-cylinder engine families – one of them being a 1.8L “Nu” engine that will first appear in the 2011 Elantra, which is expected to produce 148 horsepower and achieve a fuel economy of 40 mpg highway. The other new four-cylinder is a 1.6L “Gamma” engine that will be installed in the Volester (Hyundai hasn’t confirmed the name) sport coupe, which Hyundai promises will produce 138 horsepower and will feature the company’s first dual-clutch automated manual transmission.
