Indianapolis used car dealer has the model that exceeds the government’s revised standards

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 10, 2010 --

The Transportation Department has adjudged that changes will be made to the government’s Five-Star Safety Rating System, which will be stricter than the current system – making it more difficult for new cars and trucks to earn high scores. While this change may prove onerous for automakers and sales team members at Indianapolis used car dealers, consumers shopping for a 2011 Accent in Indianapolis will be happy to learn about this initiative. Car companies will have to make an arduous effort if they want to meet the Traffic Department’s standards, which will now be tougher than ever before.

Initiated in 1979, the “Stars on Cars” system evaluates vehicles on front-end and side-impact crashes and rollovers, consequently generating an increased interest and concern for safety equipment and technology. However, more than 90 percent of vehicles being tested under the original system earned four or five stars, making it difficult for consumers to distinguish or choose top performers. Consumers looking for a 2011 Accent in Indianapolis can rest assured that Hyundai is already on top of the competition with the Sonata, and will soon prepare the rest of its lineup to exceed the new system’s standards.

While this new change isn’t necessarily great news for Indianapolis used car dealers, sales representatives should be proud that a version of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata was one of the only two vehicles – out of 34 that were tested under the new program – received the top rating of five stars. This score will undoubtedly conciliate any skeptical consumers shopping for their next vehicle – or at least any parents looking for their next family-friendly model. For more information about the government’s new safety system, interested consumers can visit their favorite Hyundai dealer at their earliest convenience.
