IndianArtCollectors welcomes 2012 with "Rising in Love" by Ankur Rana
With the beginning of a new bright year IndianArtCollectors.com brings to you "Rising in Love" a solo exhibition by Ankur Rana. A young artist with his unique way to comprehend the meaning of the things and events around him in a way that only an artist can do, by internalizing them and expressing them as a visual expression. Ankur’s object is the impalpable reality established by his mannerisms. His style becomes essentially a combination of colour scheme and traditional motifs, in contrast to the surface and texture and subtle juxtaposition of tone and colour.
According to Rana a very common connotation associated with love is ‘falling in love’. But it is amazing paradox that when we ‘fall’ in love we actually ‘rise’ in life. The pristine power of love changes the world around us and redefines our otherwise mundane existence. Its power is comparable to a divine healing touch, a revival of the soul. As humans we are flawed and we contain ourselves in shackles. But when love takes over, the shackles unbind all by itself, the spirit is emancipated. "A woman’s power can transform a man’s life for the better. In a woman’s love a man is motivated to be a better man, to transform his life, to go that extra mile and to chase those ambitions which he otherwise wouldn’t. That is the power of a woman’s love and that is the inspiration of the following series of work which is titled – “Rising in Love” quotes this young artist.
In his present series of work, the man and woman in his artworks are in love. The expressions and jesters on the face of woman actually depicts that she is falling , or more aptly rising in love. He has beautifully depicted the after-effects of love. He is trying to bring on the canvas that beautiful and rare feeling which comes in everybody’s life for a very short span of time when he or she is in love. "I always followed my instincts to create forms, which I think would satisfy my creative urge.
I am not one of those artists who think about creating a form which related to people in one way or the other, rather these forms come naturally to me. The unique aspect of my oil-based paintings is the hue of silver colour & the well - arranged juxtaposition of pop images with jarring and vibrant background" says Rana.

About Ankur Rana
Ankur Rana is a young artist who has his own unique way to comprehend the meaning of the things and events around him. He is not one of those artists who thinks about creating a form which relates to people in one way or the other, but rather these forms come naturally to him. The unique aspect of his oil-based paintings is the hue of silver colour and the well - arranged juxtaposition of pop images with jarring and vibrant backgrounds.
Ankur's works sprout out of the material world, with all its tangibility, just as in nature. He firmly believes that nobody can express himself leaving behind the tradition of his roots— it is deeply related to the artists personal talent, attitude and vision. At the same time, Ankur is also open to exotic and eclectic traditions which he wants to imbibe. His study and work with traditional Kashmiri shawls helped him to understand the richness of tradition and importance of motifs. Through this, stemmed his experiments to synthesize the western and oriental forms and motifs in his work. The artist tries to extract motifs from nature and set them in a modern ambiance.
