National Infertility Awareness Week is RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association’s officially recognized week to promote awareness and education about the disease of infertility that affects over seven million men and women nationally. Ms. Magnacca is the inaugural recipient of the Hope Award for Best Book, Coping from RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. The New England Fertility Institute, founded by Dr. Gad Lavy in 1991, is one of the area’s oldest and most experienced infertility clinics.

Teaching Infertility Coping Strategies
Ms. Magnacca’s keynote presentation will focus on strategies infertility sufferers can use to cope with the emotional impact of this disease. She will teach attendees how to create a system to overcome challenges, maintain open lines of communication and create a sense of control over their lives. Some of her approaches include:
• Developing a “Fertility Game Plan,” an action plan laying the groundwork for proactive responses during a infertility treatment cycle;

• Discovering an individual’s unique communication style, so participants can better understand their or their partner’s communication strategy; and
• Determining the importance of knowing if they are auditory, visual or kinesthetic communicators.
