FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 13, 2012 --
The FACT Innovation Award is organised by the FACT Foundation. In 2009, this foundation initiated 'the Innovation in biofuels' program. The program aims to ensure that local communities in developing countries obtain more benefits out of local resources for biofuels and bioenergy purposes. The innovations program has started up with a number of partners, that are currently involved in the 12 projects.
Apart from those partners the program wants to call upon bright and motivated practitioners in biofuels and bioenergy who can think outside the box. These people might create new ideas or concepts, which make biofuels and bioenergy more affordable and reliable. Such innovations might be valid not only in technology, but also in social aspects, in organizational/operational aspects, environmental aspects, financial aspects and last but not least, economic aspects.
Incentive
To stimulate entering the preliminary round for the FACT Innovation Award there is a special incentive: selected candidates will be able to present their concept to potential financial investors. Business representatives, angel investors and other investors will all be invited to the Award event. Investors will be given the opportunity to interview the candidates after their presentations.
Practitioners who want to participate can submit their innovative ideas before February 23, 2012. After this date a professional panel will evaluate and discuss all submissions. The panel consists of Paul van Aalst, Director of E+Co Europe; Henny Romijn, Associate Professor in Technology, Development and Globalisation at Eindhoven University of Technology; Johan Sanders, Professor at the Wageningen University Chair of Valorisation of Plant Production Chains (WU-VPP); Jan Wery, Science Director at Dyadic Netherlands; Daan Dijk, Senior Manager Sustainable Energy & Climate, Rabobank.
