http://www.michaelpryce.com In his announcement before an assembly of his peers and the Tea Party Movement at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine Rootstown Campus, Dr. Pryce described his campaign and vision to “implement a healthcare plan that solves the problems in healthcare from the prospective of a healthcare professional and not a politician” while “making government smaller, reducing taxes and bringing spending under control.”
Explaining his decision to run for the U.S. Senate, Dr. Pryce said, “As a conservative with no party affiliation, I have been frustrated by the unfulfilled promises made by elected officials on both sides of the aisle to reduce the size of government, lower taxes and curb spending. The last three Republican administrations promised these things, and the end result was bigger government, more spending and more and more taxes. I decided to run for the Senate to help usher in a new generation of elected officials that promote conservative values that seek to rebuild our industrial strength, protect our constitutional rights and provide meaningful healthcare reform while maintaining fiscal responsibility and a strong defense.”
When asked why he opted to run as an independent, he added. “When George Washington left office, he warned against relying on the two-party system. We are seeing the end result of two-party partisan politics. They have nearly destroyed this country’s well-being. I feel we need new people from the political middle whose motives will bring sanity to government and provide an atmosphere of cooperation rather than acrimony.”
Dr. Pryce first began gaining national attention last year when he appeared on radio and television to promote his widely acclaimed book, ANATHAMA—AMERICA’S WAR ON MEDICINE: A VETERAN DOCTOR OFFERS A CURE FOR WHAT AILS AMERICA’S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM (Trafford Publishing). The favorable response garnered by both the media and the general public prompted him to run for office and his book “not only outlines what’s wrong with America’s healthcare system, but offers a revolutionary and innovative plan that will make universal healthcare affordable without needless government intervention or raising taxes.”
