Solve the problem when you use Intel 915GAG MB on newly installed Windows 7

I have got Intel 915 GAG MB. Recently I installed windows 7 RC. Kindly help to solve video card issue as only Standard VGA driver is installed by windows 7. Hence, screen resolution also cannot be adjusted.

The Solution

You need to run the HP installation in Vista compatibility mode, that is enough to overcome its built-in check. The driver itself works fine after that. Although, I seem to remember the Intel notification tray icon needing permission every start up to run elevated. But there is a simple fix for that problem.

Vista compatibility is selected by right-clicking on the installation .exe;

Select properties > 'compatibility' tab;

Then tick the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for 'checkbox and selecting 'windows vista' from the dropdown list.

Then click OK and run the .exe.
