iPad 3 Release Dates, Expected Features and What Not to Expect

The release of the iPad was unquestionably one of their greatest creations to date. As Apple explored ways to correct this problem, the first sign that they may be making a universal cellular enabled iPad 3 came with the iPhone 4S. With the ability to operate on both CDMA and GSM carriers (optional SIM card slot on the side), Apple showed that this change would allow for more profitability by not having to create several product lines that had the same functional platform.

Rumours surrounding the ipad 3 release date and expected features and release date are once again doing the rounds. This time Apple rumour mongers get a new lease with an alleged casing photo leak. There are rumors about the iPod Touch 5th Generation release date. If one were to log into the official iPod website, the latest updates are said to be announced directly to those who have their own Twitter and Facebook accounts. Also those who have an RSS account. The message is sent for free and on real time. What is the scramble about this one product?

Rumor was that ipad 3 release date is scheduled in 2011. That’s it. There is no specific date and there is no confirmation either. As the title says, it is all a rumor but it is claimed that the source is “highly reliable.” On the other side of the story, rumor has it that another product of Apple is set for release this year as well, the iPad 3. This is something that has made everyone interested in iGadgets going gaga over the thrill of a new gadget in their hands.

If we are to assume that the rumors are to be believed, then the only time the confirmation is ever going to be known is, when else, but the following iPod event that is in, you get it, September of 2011. This is again, assuming that the company will do their usual spiel in announcing the launching of a newly released iGadget.

Now, when browsing through the internet, there are some released pictures of what this 5th gen iGadget is supposed to look like. Again, rumor has it that it is just as beautiful as the predecessors and there are some of these gadgets going around on a test mode. No one can really confirm nor deny that the rumors have any truth to them.

Why is this such a big deal for ipad 3 release date? Well, speaking from pure observation of the previous releases, the rumor is a marketing ploy that will play on the needs and wants of the many iGadget fans who will go to the lengths of sleeping outside the iStores for several days just so they can claim they were the first to get the latest from Apple. If rumors are to be believed and at the rate these rumors are eaten up by the consumers, this is another one of the success stories that can only come from iStores.

What to Expect and What not to Expect?

Though, expect a larger battery, slightly revamped logic board, new cameras, and a different screen. The rumour mills so far have been consistent with the leaked images, which give us a semblance of hope and belief on what to expect from the most-awaited gadget this year.

Sources close to Apple have already hinted that the new iPad will go dynamic with double resolution Retina display (a whopping 2048 x 1536 pixels), while the device probably will resemble its predecessor in looks. However, expect the new tablet to be a millimetre thicker in comparison overall.

Also on the cards is the A6 CPU and the iPad 3 is expected to flaunt a significantly powerful GPU, which is consistent with our expectations. But the big surprise is that the A6 will not feature a quad-core chip and instead will retain dual-core from the original configuration.

Previous stories about the iPad 3 featuring a quad-core processor and an LTE capability onboard clearly seem inaccurate for a couple of valid reasons. Primarily, a quad-core redesign would incur additional costs and time that could further delay the release of the most-anticipated tablet.

As for 4G LTE connectivity, Qualcomm’s chipset will see the light of day only in the second or third quarter of 2012, which in effect could delay Apple’s iPad 3 if it’s adopted.

As far as the release date goes, a February announcement is unlikely. So, what is the catch? Consider last year’s iPad 2 release in early March that bided some time in finding resellers before hitting the stores and it is likely that Apple would repeat a similar feat this year.

Release Dates Quagmire

Besides, Apple has a policy of following upgrades and releases promptly on a periodic basis.

There is one key point to note. This year February falls into a leap year with 29 days, and the 29th falls on a Wednesday (the day on which Apple has announced every other iPad). The iPad 2 was announced on March 2, 2011, and made available the following Friday (March 11th).
