iParent Magazine expands special needs section for Tampa Bay parents

Tampa, Florida, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 25, 2010 -- In an effort to consolidate information for Tampa Bay parents with special needs children, iParent Magazine (www.iParentMagazine.com) has launched an intensive effort to expand its SPECIAL NEEDS section to ensure it is the most comprehensive resource for parents and families in central Florida .

“Parents are searching for information for caring for their children that have all manner of disabilities and diagnoses, including Autism / Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Asperger’s Syndrome, childhood cancer, speech and hearing impairments, blindness , and others,” explains founder, Tom LaPointe. “Many of the resources that are available can be difficult to find because each disease or disability has its own website and there are few on the web that combine the information in one location, ” he continued.

He explains that iParent Magazine will develop active relationships with various local agencies to ensure parents have access to a variety of information, including CARD USF (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at University of South Florida), Florida Family Network on Disabilities (FND), Florida Inclusion Network, PARC , and many more. In addition iParent Magazine plans to partner with non-profit support groups and medical facilities to help parents locate services, including All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Gulf Coast Autism Association, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa , and others. The publication is also commited to identify key services and IEP staff in local school districts to help parnts, such as Pinellas County Schools, Hillsborough County Schools, Pasco County Schools, Hernando County Schools, Manatee County Schools, and Sarasota County Schools.
