Is the Fog of War About to Clear? 9 years after 9/11
An official petition site allows the American voice to be heard about the war conflict resolution.

With less than a year before President Obama’s promise of bringing the troops back on August 31st, 2010, the war has passed the midpoint of the Vietnam War. There is now a way for everyone to make their voice heard by petitioning to bring a successful resolution to the war conflict.
Some real numbers:
• 5295 - Total American casualties from Iraq (4367) and Afghanistan (929) since October 7th, 2001.
• 2976 - Total number of days we’ve been at war.
• 1.78/Day - Average of two Americans killed each day over the past 8 plus years.
• $944 Billion - Total amount spent to finance the war through FY2009.
• $139 Billion - Amount budgeted for the war for FY2010.
• $1.083 Trillion - Total cost of the war by the end of next year.
The late Robert McNamara said, "War is so complex, it’s beyond the ability of the human mind to comprehend all the variables. Our judgment, our understanding are not adequate. And we kill people ...”
