FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 23, 2009 --

Toronto, ON, September 23, 2009 – With 1.066 million university students back on Canadian campuses, it’s inevitable that many housemates now find themselves shacked up next to a friend who’s decorating talents are seriously sub-par, if even remotely acceptable! The Remote Stylist is taking charge– showing students that their first foray into decor need not be so hand-me-down with the Remote Stylist Back to Campus (BTC) Contest (www.remotestylist.com). What’s up for grabs? A Back to Campus Prize Pack of fabulous home decor! Bonus: a $250 Gift Card for the thoughtful nominator who’s entry wins.

Modelled after TV’s “What Not to Wear”, nominators are asked to shoot a 2 minute video, live from the scene of the crime and tell all those listening what campus they’re on, whose room this is, and why their décor-challenged friend or roommate is winner-worthy. Once entered into the contest, videos are voted on by the public. The Top 5 videos (ranked by the number of votes) will then be evaluated by our style savvy judging panel based on their hilarity, effort, worthiness and impact. Who are the judges? Jaclyn Genovese (Owner of Toronto Boutique JacFlash), Curtis Santiago (musician, artist and Canada's leading hipperstance man) and Matte Babel (CP24 Morning Show Host & Former Much Music VJ).

Harnessing the campus spirit, the Remote Stylist is leveraging social media platforms, like Facebook and Twitter, spread the word across the country. With 42 Campus Ambassadors stationed from Victoria to Newfoundland to help keep the flame alive, it’s certain to get heated. Which campus can out-participate the next; Queens or Dal; Windsor or SFU? Follow #btc on twitter to stay up to speed.

Contest runs September 23 – October 9, 2009. It’s open to all Canadians, aged 18 to 24 enrolled full-time in a Canadian university for the 2009/2010 school year. The winner will be announced Friday, October 16, 2009.
