FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 16, 2010 -- It's February 16th, only two months away from the filing deadline for Federal and State personal income tax returns. Yet many people are not even remotely ready to get their taxes done. Procrastination runs rampant when it comes to getting tax returns completed.

Darlene Wood CPA and Alyx Cohan CPA in Prescott, Arizona are helping individuals and small businesses get ready, set, done! with their tax returns. No need to procrastinate as you can get help every step of the way, and who knows? You may end up with a terrific refund, and be so glad that you got everything done early.

Wood and Cohan provide some tips on getting ready to have your return prepared, and also on how you can make your next year much, much easier: For the "go to" tax gals in Prescott, call 928.771.1950.

1. If your preparer has an organizer you can use, use it! Even if you don't complete everything on the list, the organizer will help you know what documents you need to gather.

2. Gather all your W2s, 1099s and other year-end tax documents in one place. Your tax preparer will need them.

3. Decide if you plan to e-file or paper file, and if you want your refund direct-deposited or sent as a paper check. Also, if you owe, do you want to have the payment withdrawn from your bank account or will you write a check?

4. Consider what items may be tax deductible. Do you have medical bills? Charitable contributions? Real estate taxes? Mortgage interest? Business expenses? Gather all the receipts you have to support those expenditures.

5. Now, how can you make next year easier? There is no way to avoid some of the tedious tasks related to taxes, but one way to minimize the year-end stress is to spend a little time each month organizing your documents. If you need help figuring out what may or may not be deductible, call Wood or Cohan at 928.771.1950 for help or guidance.

Procrastination won't really make your taxes go away. So, take a deep breath, empty the shoebox and get it together. Good luck!
