ITM institute of Hotel Management’s Youth Career Initiative – Pilots Training for disadvantaged

ITM institute of Hotel Management Bangalore today announced a unique initiative of sponsoring a short term Certificate Education program on all India basis, that provides disadvantaged youngsters with work skills in leading hotels and hospitality sectors. The first of its program is in “House Keeping and F&B Service”. The leading Star Hotels like Wood Rose - Brigade Hospitality Venture, ITC Hotels and Hotel Ista will join hands with ITM. The beneficiaries are selected from Non Governmental Organisations like SOS Children’s Village, Christel Academy, and Vincent de Paul Charity Society. The students will be screened & selected from few cities in India to undergo this short term course at ITM IHM Bangalore. On completion of the course, ITM IHM assures the students 100% placement. Students who are 18 years and above and those who have successfully completed 10th Standard with good communication skills in English are eligible for the program.

This program will groom students as per industry requirements, teach the respective module as per curriculum and mentor the students for job opportunities or higher studies on completion of the course. ITM IHM seeks to provide comprehensive learning environment for any individual passionate about hospitality profession.

In addition, the ITM institute launched the “Jeune Chef’ (Young Chef)”competition to divulge culinary talent among young minds. The procedure will involve inviting interested Pre-University students on a weekly basis to ITM IHM campus for a culinary competition and audio visual classes. Selected two winners from each session will visit a Five Star Property in Bangalore and interact with the hoteliers. The final selection of champion will be held in the month of May, 2012, and the winners will receive exciting prizes including a scholarship to pursue Hospitality Management at ITM IHM Bangalore.
