Jack Lindblad poised to challenge incumbent for 39th Assembly seat

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 21, 2010 -- Los Angeles, California - 39th Assembly Candidate Jack Lindblad received confirmation from the Los Angeles County Registrar that his 61 District-wide Green Party registrant petition signatures were valid, submitted in lieu of a filing fee, required for the candidate's ballot access.

This marks the Lindblad campaign's second consecutive, and back-to-back run for the 39th Assembly seat against an incumbent, who to many represents the Democrat political machine and is extremely well-funded by lobbyist money.

The 2010 campaign will be a rematch between backers of corporate concerns and supporters of human values centered on ecological wisdom, in midst of increasing public awareness of multiple collapses and the Sixth Great Extinction, caused by anthropogenic activity.

Says Lindblad: "I took the imperative to replace the corporate-based governance with sustainable policies to the community and registered over 108 new Green registrants covering the Los Angeles area, of which 76 are new 39th Assembly District registrants, raising the District's Green registered base 12.6% or from 0.46 to 0.51 of 1%."

Only this time there's a new twist: no Republican is running.

Parties opposing the Democrat appeared to have agreed upon, tacitly, on one candidate, Lindblad, to run against the soon-to-be termed out office-holder.

Sizable inroads in coalitional politics promise to be realized in racking up more the sum of the voter totals of the smaller parties, building on the 8.06% earned by Lindblad in 2008, representing 1600% of the Green Party registered base, ranking at the top of other contests where Greens ran. Reaching across partisan lines augers well for the potential of electability to the State Assembly and bridge-building once in office.
